Reverend Carolyn Bowers
It is good to finally be here in Port Orchard and to begin settling into ministry with all of you. On my first Sunday, David and I had the opportunity to meet some of you following worship, and it is my goal to visit as many of you as possible in the next few months. I look forward to getting to know you and the community of Port Orchard.
I wanted to let you know my schedule and how to contact me. I will be in the office Tuesday – Friday 9 a.m. – noon. My door is always open for anyone who wants to drop by. In the afternoons I will usually be out and about visiting and getting to know the community.
I am excited to be here in this beautiful place, and to being able to get to know all of you.
Blessings,
Pastor Carolyn

Music Ministry - Len Hembd
I believe that the music ministry environment chose me rather than by my choice.. I had been participating in an annual Worship Arts Summer Conference for several years listening, learning, and watching all of the gifted musicians attending when it struck me that perhaps the skills I had learned could be used at home as well as at the Conferences..
I would come back to Colby each year recharged and ready to share and finally the opportunity came and I acted on it.. I do not regret making that choice and sharing the gifts that God gave to me gives me the strength to play on to the tune in my heart and soul.. A Keynote Speaker at one of the last Conferences I attended said something very profound.. "Each Word Spoken, each note sang or played, and every measured step to music by a dancer is heard and seen by our God and it gives him pleasure because he saves that moment and places it on the door of His refrigerator with pride." I love being a part of that.

Youth Group Leader - John Mueller
What does being a youth leader mean to me? It means I get to teach the teenagers of the group that Jesus Christ is a living person who resides with in their heart. I challenge the youth to use decision making skills that are needed in their daily struggle with life. We explore the bible and how it is relevant in the world. I use games, local missions, sharing meals and interactive activities to try and live the life as a Christian. I enjoy watching young people find out who they are and become an important part of the community.
